Finance and Administration Manager, Eastern and Central Africa, Interpeace
Amos Atuya Nyakundi leads Interpeace’s Finance and Administration functions in Eastern and Central Africa. He has over 10 years’ experience with finance in the humanitarian and development sectors. Prior to joining Interpeace, Amos worked for Tearfund as a Geographical Management Accountant, covering the West and Central Africa Region. He has a vast experience in audit, accounting, finance and overall management of multiple donor funds in international organizations. Amos has a strong ability in setting up internal control systems, managing budgets, and preparing financial reports based on specific requirements set by donors. He has hands-on experience managing funds from major donors like USAID, the European Commission (EC) and SIDA among others. Amos is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA). He holds a Masters’ in Project Planning and Management from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Finance) from Moi University.
Margaret Wanjiru - Secretary
Margaret Wanjiru is a financial management specialist with over 18 years’ cumulative experience managing international NGO projects at country and regional levels. Currently serving as the Country Finance Manager for PATH; managing funds from various donors and philanthropic foundations including USAID, CDC, UNICEF, DFID, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Hewlett Packard, Ford Foundation and Hilton Foundation. Additionally, ensures compliance with operational, procurement and human resource policies. Margaret holds a Master of Business Administration-Finance, is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of ICPAK. She has been with PATH for the last 17 years and has been the Chair of the PATH Staff Retirement Benefit Scheme. She holds other qualifications as Trustee Development program- HUMBER Canada & College of Insurance, Project Management for Development Professionals (PMD Pro1), APM Group & KAIZEN– Operations efficiency.
Frank Odhiambo – Member
Mr. Frank Odhiambo works with Innovations for Poverty Action as a Policy Manager. Frank has over 9 years’ experience in development work across different sectors including tax compliance and micro-finance. Frank has experience in setting up and testing internal controls; audits and; verification. His key vision for the Sacco is to ensure management’s financial reporting objectives have been met and management practices and procedures initiated by the board safeguard members’ assets and investments. He is passionate about internal controls and how these controls meet the requirements of the supervisory committee audit. He is keen to ensure that accounting records and financial reports to members accurately reflect operations and results and that the Sacco continues to establish relevant control procedures that safeguard members investments, reduce reporting errors, conflict of interest, self-dealing and fraud. Frank has a Master of Arts Degree in Project Planning and Management and a Diploma in Procurement and Supplies Management from the University of Nairobi.
